HISTORY OF CAMOIL

Collector Automobile Motor Oil ltd began after Bob Zubkowski read Keith Ansell’s article, “Our Oil is Killing our Cars!!!!” After long hours of research Collector Automobile Motor Oil (CAMOIL) was born.

We approached Boss Lubricants of Calgary, Alberta, Canada with the problem of reduced Zinc Dialkyl Dithio Phosphate (ZDDP) in engine oils. After talks with the chemical engineers at Boss, proper formulated engine oil for flat bottom lifter engines was born.

We began in the fall of 2009 by advertising with a one page black and white brochure, which we handed out at car show and shines, swap meets and club meetings, and selling CAMOil out of the trunks of our cars.

We formally incorporated on 29th of April 2010. The company has expanded from British Columbia to Manitoba with 95 outlets including members of Auto Parts Plus, NAPA, PartSource, and the Reynolds-Alberta Museum Gift Shop, along with independent outlets.
